The Process

  • Convection Process

    An induction fan circulates rich, hardwood smoke throughout the cook chamber for even heat and epic flavor distribution.

  • Hopper

    Load the hopper to the brim with 100% Hardwood for hours of smoking and grilling without reloading.

  • Auger

    It fuels the fire, moving Hardwood from Hopper to Fire Pot—briskly for hot and fast, or gradually for low and slow cooking.

  • Firepot

    A hot rod at the bottom of the Fire Pot ignites the Hardwood, keeping the fire going so you can relax and drink a cold one.

  • Energy Economy

    Powered by a standard, household outlet, it uses 300 watts for the first four minutes and only 50 watts for the rest of the cook.

  • Shut Down Cycle

    This sweet setting keeps the induction fan running for 10 minutes to lift residual ash from the fire pot and shuts off automatically.

I agree with Lee (except for last statement). DO buy the cover if you are going to store outside on the deck, as I do. The cover is super heavy duty, impervious to elements and strong winds won't even budge it.

Saw the infomercial on tv and kicked around purchasing the Traegar. After careful consideration I bit the bullet and did. Once you get the hang of it, it is easier and faster than a charcoal and gas grill plus you get the great flavor of what ever type of wood flavor you want. I was scared to attempt to cook brisket on the other grills but with the Traegar it is very easy and great flavor. A bag of pellets last as long or longer than a 20 # bottle of propane. Storage of the pellets is easy just go to your hardware store and buy a % gallon bucket with lid and keep it sealed until use. I have had my Traegar for about a year and a half, the charcoal and gas grills hardly ever get used any more. If you want real smoked flavor and convenience this grill should be highly considered. (Don't buy the cover, you will never use it.)

Q. I have an outside Kitchen with Granite counters. Can I take this off of the legs and place on the counter or on top of some pavers if needed for hopper?

A. You can take the legs off an set it on a heat resistant surface. The only thing you need to worry about is airflow beneath the hopper. That area must stay clear for proper airflow.

Q. How does this grill hold up in the extreme cold of North Dakota (minus 20 to 30 F?)

A. The Pro Series will do just fine in the cold. We recommend the use of an Insulation blanket in cold temps.

Q. Is this pre-punched for the dome thermometer?

A. No, We no longer pre punch the lids for the come thermometer. You would need to drill a 3/4 inch hole for the large dome thermometer.
