Ingredients

Smoked Jacobsen Salt Margarita:

  • 1/4 cup Jacobsen Salt, Smoked
  • as needed Ice Cubes
  • 3 oz. Tequila
  • 2 oz. Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1 tsp. Orange Liqueur

Simple Syrup:

  • 1-1/2 cup Bee Local Honey
  • 1 cup Water

Smoked Jacobsen Salt Margarita:

  • 1/4 cup Jacobsen Salt, Smoked
  • as needed Ice Cubes
  • 3 oz. Tequila
  • 2 oz. Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1 tsp. Orange Liqueur

Simple Syrup:

  • 1-1/2 cup Bee Local Honey
  • 1 cup Water

Preparation

To smoke the salt, place 2 pounds of salt on a cooking sheet; spread evenly so all salt is level.

Place the pan in the back corner of the Traeger and smoke for at least 1 hour.

Check the salt after 1 hour; and continue to smoke to your taste.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, Simple Syrup and orange liqueur. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds.

Place smoked salt on a plate. Press the rim of a chilled rocks glass into the salt to rim the edge.

Strain margarita into the glass. Enjoy!

Simple Syrup: Put the honey and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, for about 20 min.
