This cocktail is rummy. Grilled strawberries, fresh basil and rum create a sweet and aromatic drink that'll have you wishing you were spending happy hour on the beach.

Ingredients

  • 2 STRAWBERRIES
  • 3 TBSP, divided GRANULATED SUGAR
  • 3 BASIL LEAVES
  • 1 SLICED lime, for garnish
  • 1 Basil leaf, for garnish
  • 2 STRAWBERRIES
  • 3 TBSP, divided GRANULATED SUGAR
  • 3 BASIL LEAVES
  • 1.5 OZ WHITE RUM

Preparation

When ready to cook, start the Traeger grill on Smoke with the lid open until the fire is established (4 to 5 minutes). Set the temperature to 375 degrees F and preheat, lid closed for 10-15 minutes. 

Cut strawberries in half and coat in 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Place directly on grill grate and cook for15 to 20 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. 

Add 1 Tbsp granulated sugar and basil leaves to shaking tin and lightly muddle. Add strawberries and muddle again.

Pour in white rum, lime juice, and Traeger simple syrup. Shake with ice. 

Strain contents into a chilled glass and garnish with large fresh basil leaf and sliced lime. Enjoy!
