WOOD-FIRED GRILLING

The Lil' Tex Elite captures the spirit of cooking outdoors with the precision of the 21st century with a cutting edge auger-fed burner, electronic auto start, LED Digital thermostat control, and EZ-drain grease system.

The Process

  • Convection Process

An induction fan circulates rich, hardwood smoke throughout the cook chamber for even heat and epic flavor distribution.

  • Hopper

Load the hopper to the brim with 100% Hardwood for hours of smoking and grilling without reloading.

  • Auger

It fuels the fire, moving Hardwood from Hopper to Fire Pot—briskly for hot and fast, or gradually for low and slow cooking.

  • Firepot

A hot rod at the bottom of the Fire Pot ignites the Hardwood, keeping the fire going so you can relax and drink a cold one.

  • Energy Economy

Powered by a standard, household outlet, it uses 300 watts for the first four minutes and only 50 watts for the rest of the cook.

  • Shut Down Cycle

This sweet setting keeps the induction fan running for 5 minutes to lift residual ash from the fire pot and shuts off automatically.

Best purchase ever!
I bought my Lil' Tex Elite three weeks ago and have enjoyed some of the best cooked meals of my life! Chicken, pork chops, steak, roast, and turkey, all of them done perfectly, never dry, never burned, always just amazing! There are an infinite number of recipes out there you can google and none of them have disappointed. I will never own another gas or charcoal grill again in my life, this thing is amazing!!! Highly recommend one to anyone looking for the best in grilling, smoking, roasting, etc.

Awesome
This is by far the best bbq smoker ever. I use it to cook some quick burgers and dogs to smoked salmon, briskets, roasts. It makes great steaks to. It's super fast to heat up and be ready to go. Easy to clean. Awesome Awesome Awesome

Great for everything, kind of
The grill is great, and I had the same problem as Detherly getting mine to light the first time. Identically to Detherly's experience, I was on and off the phone with Traeger in a flash, problem solved. Should have read the instructions more carefully. OK, now the tiny down side - while everything TASTES great cooked on a Traeger (you're cooking on wood, how could it not), char marks for grilled foods (450° and above - steaks, burgers, dogs) are practically nonexistent. Here's my suggestion if the Traeger's your only cooker. Cook your steak, burger, dogs on the Traeger for a bit (get the meat partly cooked and smoky), and then transfer them to a hot cast iron pan, maybe one with ridges. Now you've got the taste of smoke and the look of fire. For EVERYTHING else, the Traeger is perfect.
