The Process

  • Convection Process

    An induction fan circulates rich, hardwood smoke throughout the cook chamber for even heat and epic flavor distribution.

  • Hopper

    Load the hopper to the brim with 100% Hardwood for hours of smoking and grilling without reloading.

  • Auger

    It fuels the fire, moving Hardwood from Hopper to Fire Pot—briskly for hot and fast, or gradually for low and slow cooking.

  • Firepot

    A hot rod at the bottom of the Fire Pot ignites the Hardwood, keeping the fire going so you can relax and drink a cold one.

  • Energy Economy

    Powered by a standard, household outlet, it uses 300 watts for the first four minutes and only 50 watts for the rest of the cook.

  • Shut Down Cycle

    This sweet setting keeps the induction fan running for 10 minutes to lift residual ash from the fire pot and shuts off automatically.

Great grill/smoker!
I have had a charcoal grill for over 34 years. I liked the food that I cooked on there, but I didn't like getting black hands from the charcoal anymore. I wanted something to be easier to operate and get great food from!!! The Traeger, so far, seems to be the beast! I have only done a couple different foods on there - burgers and a chuck roast - and both have turned out great. I love the turning of the dial and it fires up. I'm use to the waiting for the carcoal to be ready, so waiting for the Traeger to get heated up is no problem. Haven't had the best weather for grilling lately, that is why I've only done the two meats. I have great plans for this new grill/smoker!! All the kids are waiting to be invited for great food! As far as the value of this grill, it's quite a hit to the wallet, just so it holds up for a long time!

My wife bought me a Traeger for my birthday; the spokesman told us it would change our lives. I have only cooked on it once, I grilled steaks, and I have never had a steak that great before in life! Perfectly grilled, juicy, better than Morton's; can't wait to try baby backs, and the hickory pellets

Awesome Grill!!!!!
This grill was the best purchase I have ever made when it comes to grills. I was a little apprehensive at the price but worth every dollar I spent. This grill takes smoking and grilling to another level when it comes to flavor and tenderness. I smoked and cooked chicken on this grill and its juiciness and flavor was off the charts. When I pulled the meat probe out of the chicken it actually squirted juice. I highly recommend this grill it will be the first and last grill you will ever buy!!!!!

Q. I just purchased the 2016 Pro Series Traeger grill. I also purchased the 22" fold down front shelf. I'm not quite understanding how this goes on. Is it the right shelf for the pro series grill?

Q. I see you list the length and width of the grilling surface but what is the overall length and width of the pro series 22 unit? I have limited space and I want to make sure it will fit where I need it to.

Q. how long do these grills last?? with other grills, it doesn't seem to matter how much you spend, parts rust out and need replaced within 2-3 years. Also how long can you grill with 1 bag of pellets? I understand it will vary depending on temperature, but can you give me an idea how many times I can grill steaks with 1 bag of pellets?

A. We have a 3 year warranty on all of our residential grills. With proper care our grills will last a long time. As for the pellets. On the smoke setting which is 160-180 degrees it consumes a little over a pound an hour. On High which is 400-450 degrees will consume a little over 3 lbs an hour. This particular grill holds 18 lbs of pellets.
