We’ve added Advanced Grilling Logic to ensure consistent temperature control. By enhancing the Pro body style we give you an easily maneuverable meat machine that’s strapping stability for grilling on any terrain. If you’re the Pit Boss, a Pro grill will help showcase your epic creations.

The Process

  • Convection Process

An induction fan circulates rich, hardwood smoke throughout the cook chamber for even heat and epic flavor distribution.

  • Hopper

Load the hopper to the brim with 100% Hardwood for hours of smoking and grilling without reloading.

  • Auger

It fuels the fire, moving Hardwood from Hopper to Fire Pot—briskly for hot and fast, or gradually for low and slow cooking.

  • Firepot

A hot rod at the bottom of the Fire Pot ignites the Hardwood, keeping the fire going so you can relax and drink a cold one.

  • Energy Economy

Powered by a standard, household outlet, it uses 300 watts for the first four minutes and only 50 watts for the rest of the cook.

  • Shut Down Cycle

This sweet setting keeps the induction fan running for 10 minutes to lift residual ash from the fire pot and shuts off automatically.

Excellent Grill / Smoker
Traeger made a great product. After the first week, I've smoked ribs, pulled pork, and grilled steak and lobster tails. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome on any of it. It really works just as advertised.

I waited too long !!
Being the cheap SOB that I am I kept putting off spending the money for a Traeger Grill. I finally broke down and purchased the Pro Series 22. Turns out it is the best purchase I've ever made. New Years day I did a 12lb standing rib roast (with oak pellets) and every one kept raving about how it was one of the best meals ever. The good part was once the meat was prepped and put on the grill all I had to do was watch the clock. NO MORE over or under cooked meat, no burned spots no baby sitting the grill while everyone else had fun. I got to spend time with my family and even watched a little football. If you are holding off on buying a Traeger don't, it's that simple.

Q. how long do these grills last?? with other grills, it doesn't seem to matter how much you spend, parts rust out and need replaced within 2-3 years. Also how long can you grill with 1 bag of pellets? I understand it will vary depending on temperature, but can you give me an idea how many times I can grill steaks with 1 bag of pellets?
friendswood, Texas
A. We have a 3 year warranty on all of our residential grills. With proper care our grills will last a long time. As for the pellets. On the smoke setting which is 160-180 degrees it consumes a little over a pound an hour. On High which is 400-450 degrees will consume a little over 3 lbs an hour. This particular grill holds 18 lbs of pellets.

Q. I bought one of the 2016 Pro Series 22 grills last summer (my 3rd Traeger Grill) and love it. I cook year round on my grill and we get some fairly cold winter temps here in the Midwest. Why is there no blanket for this unit? Welding blankets drop too much fiberglass for me to want to use one. Is there a blanket for any other units that would be a close fit? Any suggestions?
St. Peters, Missouri
A. At this time we do not have a blanket which will fit the new pro series 22. This is because the new handle design is much wider compared to previous years. That being said, there are non-fiberglass welding blankets available which can be used for insulation.

Q. Are the covers water proof enough to leave grill exposed to weather on my Deck? Previous covers allowed water to seep through and then trapped it on the exterior of the grill.
Wetumpka, Alabama
A. Our covers are made out of heavy-duty, water resistant material. Since they are not 100% closed off at the bottom, it is possible a small amount of moisture can get in. That being said, since our grills are powder coated, this amount of moisture will not do any damage unless the paint has been damaged or removed.

Q. How many Lbs. turkey will the pro 22 smoke ? Also can you roast 2 beer can chickens at the same time?
Port Amgeles, Washington
A. This grill can hold roughly a 22 lb turkey. And yes this does have the capacity to hold 2 beer can chickens side by side.
