WOOD-FIRED GRILLING

The Tailgater is serious fun, wood-fired business. It's perfectly portable, and fires up full-fledged flavor on the fly. Get ready to grill everywhere.

The Process

  • Convection Process

An induction fan circulates rich, hardwood smoke throughout the cook chamber for even heat and epic flavor distribution.

  • Hopper

Load the hopper to the brim with 100% Hardwood for hours of smoking and grilling without reloading.

  • Auger

It fuels the fire, moving Hardwood from Hopper to Fire Pot—briskly for hot and fast, or gradually for low and slow cooking.

  • Firepot

A hot rod at the bottom of the Fire Pot ignites the Hardwood, keeping the fire going so you can relax and drink a cold one.

  • Energy Economy

Powered by a standard, household outlet, it uses 300 watts for the first four minutes and only 50 watts for the rest of the cook.

  • Shut Down Cycle

This sweet setting keeps the induction fan running for 5 minutes to lift residual ash from the fire pot and shuts off automatically.

Traeger tough
Was smoking a 13 lb brisket in my junior goofed up and poked a hole in the foil resulting in a grease fire. Cleaned it up and it's still working perfectly.

Tailgater At The Apartment
I'm temporarily working in Charlotte and living at an apartment. My wife bought me the Tailgater for Father's day and it has been in use almost continuously. It is accepted by the management here because it is considered to be "electric". I've driven my neighbors crazy with the wafting smoke from my meals of ribs, burgers, steaks, chicken, fish, turkey, chops, cheese and lamb. While it's small enough to keep on my patio, it has enough room to cook a 14 pound turkey. I'm currently using a fantastic maple hickory cherry blend of Traeger pellets. This smoker is easy to use and produces fantastic results.

Q. How is the tailgater powered? 12V DC?

A. The tailgater, along with all of our grills, run off of 120V AC. If you want to use it as DC you can use our power inverter.

Q. What is the height of the Tailgater when the legs are folded up? I want to see if it will fit in the bed of my Ram 3500 under my tonneau cover. Thanks...
