Honey Balsamic Salmon

Honey Balsamic Salmon

There is nothing quite like fresh salmon hot off your Traeger. It is so flaky, tender, and mild, with the perfect hint of that singature smoky flavor. Top it off with a beautiful sweet balsamic glaze and you have a {better than} restaurant quality meal in under 30 minutes. Perfect for company or a busy weeknight, this Honey Balsamic Salmon is a sure winner.

 

Honey Balsamic Salmon

 

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25-30 minutes
Serves: 4
Recommended Pellets: Alder or Pecan

Ingredients:

1 medium salmon fillet (about 36-48 oz total)
Traeger Salmon Shake, or Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons honey

Preparation:

Remove any pin bones in the salmon with kitchen tweezers or needle-nose pliers. Season the fillet with the Traeger Salmon Shake or salt and pepper.

Make the glaze: Combine the vinegar, garlic and honey in a small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat until reduced by half. Usually 10-15 minutes. The glaze will be properly reduced when it "clings" to the back of your spoon. (See picture) Using a basting brush, coat the fillet with the glaze.

When ready to cook, start the Traeger grill on Smoke with the lid open until the fire is established (4 to 5 minutes). Set the temperature to 350 degrees F and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes. Arrange the salmon fillet on the grill grate.

Honey Balsamic Salmon

Grill for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Transfer to a platter or plates and serve immediately. If desired, heat any remaining glaze to a boil and drizzle over top of the salmon.
