Whether you celebrate the Jewish High Holidays or not, we guarantee you can benefit from having a little Noodle Kugel in your life. A traditional noodle kugel is a semi-sweet custard style dessert, baked to perfection on your Traeger. We used this recipe from Dave Lieberman and adapted it for baking on the Traeger.
Traditional Noodle Kugel
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 45 Minutes
Recommended Pellets: Apple, Pecan, Maple
1/2 pound wide egg noodles
4 tbs butter, melted
1 pound cottage cheese
2 cups sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins
Start your Traeger on Smoke with the lid open for 4-5 minutes to establish the fire. Turn the temperature setting to 375 degrees and preheat, lid closed for 10-15 minutes.
Boil the noodles in salted water for about 4 minutes. Strain noodles from water.
In a large mixing bowl, combine noodles with remaining ingredients and pour into a greased, approximately 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
Bake until custard is set and top is golden brown, about 30 to 45 minutes.
