PREP TIME: 10 minutes
COOK TIME: 20 to 30 minutes
RECOMMENDED PELLETS: Alder, Apple, Cherry, Hickory, Mesquite or Pecan
SERVES: 4 to 8
4 chicken breasts
4 chicken legs
4 tablespoons olive oil
4 fresh-pressed garlic cloves
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan
Kirkland Sweet Mesquite Seasoning from Costco (or use a Sweet & Smoky Rub by McCormick)
Traeger Honey Bourbon Sauce (about 1 cup)
Traeger Regular BBQ Sauce (about 1 cup)
Traeger Texas Spicy BBQ Sauce (about 1 cup)
Make the seasoned oil for the chicken by mixing together the olive oil, garlic cloves (pressed or you can use a rasp to mince it), and Worcestershire sauce.
Rub the oil mixture into all of the chicken breasts and chicken legs and then season on all sides with the Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan and Kirkland Sweet Mesquite Seasoning.
Mix together the 3 barbecue sauces in a bowl, using equal parts of each. (I used about 1 cup of each.)
Start your Traeger on Smoke with lid open for 5 minutes to get started. Close the lid and preheat to High for 10 to 15 minutes. Place the seasoned chicken pieces on the grill grate and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, depending on breast or leg size. (Use an instant-read thermometer to make sure the meat reaches 165 degrees F.)
During the last five minutes splash on that amazing BBQ sauce mixture.
Serve to the masses with your favorite BBQ sides.
