Grilled Pear Crostini

Get fancy this Valentine's day with this wood-fired appetizer. Sweet grilled pears are grilled and loaded atop crusty baguette slices, a whipped honey cheese and drizzled with a balsamic reduction.


1 baguette

extra virgin olive oil

salt and pepper, to taste

2 cups balsamic vinegar

8 oz feta cheese

4 oz cream cheese

4 Tbsp honey

4 grilled pears, thinly sliced

Kosher salt and Black Pepper, to taste


When ready to cook, start the Traeger grill on Smoke with the lid open until the fire is established (4 to 5 minutes). Set the temperature to 350 degrees F and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.

Cut baguettes into 1/4" slices. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Place onto a baking sheet and bake in Traeger for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool completely.

Place pear slices directly on the grill grate. Grill for 2 minutes, flip and grill on the other side for another 2 minutes.

Bring the balsamic vinegar to a boil in a small saucepan. Lower heat to medium and simmer until slightly reduced, about 15 minutes. Let cool.

Combine feta, cream cheese and honey in a food processor. Process until very smooth, scraping down sides if needed.

Smear whipped honey cheese mixture onto cooled crostini and top with a grilled pear slice.

Drizzle with reduced balsamic and serve. Enjoy!
