What's this?

Southern country comfort in cast iron. Fresh berries mixed with the zest of orange citrus, and baked until bubbly under our homemade biscuit topping.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cup berries

  • 4 Tablespoon sugar

  • 1/3 Cup orange juice

  • 2/3 Cup flour

  • 3/4 Teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 Pinch salt

  • 1/2 Cup butter

  • 1/2 Cup sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar, raw

Steps

  • 1

When ready to cook, set grill temperature to 350℉ (180 C) and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.
  • 2

In a 10-inch (25-cm) cast iron or other baking pan, mix together the berries, 4 Tbsp sugar and the orange juice.
  • 3

In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • 4

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix to combine. Gradually fold in the flour mixture.
  • 5

Spoon the batter on top of the berries and sprinkle raw sugar on top.
  • 6

Bake the cobbler for approximately 35-45 minutes. Cool slightly and serve with whipped cream. Enjoy!
