What's this?

A savory slab deserves a sweet chaser. This dessert is like campfire banana boats on steroids. Try smoky, sweet ice cream, grilled bananas, and a smattering of your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup heavy cream

  • 2 Cup half-and-half

  • 2 Teaspoon bourbon

  • 1 Vanilla Bean, split and scraped

  • 2/3 Cup sugar

  • 4 Bananas

  • As Needed Jarred chocolate, butterscotch, pineapple, or strawberry ice cream toppings

  • As Needed Nuts (optional)

  • As Needed whipped cream

  • As Needed Cherries, maraschino

Steps

  • 1

When ready to cook, start the Traeger on Smoke.
  • 2

Combine the heavy cream and half-and-half in an aluminum roasting pan. Place them in the Traeger and smoke for 45 minutes.
  • 3

Once the cream mixture has smoked, remove it from the grill, add the bourbon, vanilla, sugar, and salt. Stir until it is fully dissolved, and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • 4

Pour into an ice cream maker until it reaches a soft serve consistency. Next, put it into a plastic container and place in the freezer for at least 1 hour, or until you are ready to assemble the banana splits.
  • 5

    Assemble the banana splits.
