Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday for gobbling creamy homemade mashed potatoes like they’re going out of style.

  • 5 Pound Yukon Gold potatoes

  • 1 1/2 Stick butter, softened

  • 1 1/2 Cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature

  • kosher salt

  • white pepper

    When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 300°F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

    Peel and cut potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes. Place the potatoes in a shallow baking dish with 1/2 cup water and cover. Bake until tender, about 40 minutes.

    In a medium saucepan, combine cream and butter. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted.

    • 1 1/2 Cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature

    Remove potatoes from the grill and drain water.

    Transfer potatoes to a bowl and mash using a potato masher. Gradually add in cream and butter mixture and mix using the masher. Be careful not to overwork or the potatoes will becomes gluey. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
