Hardwood Mesquite

Blackened salmon, on a Traeger. This simple recipe really lets the flavor shine. Start with a salmon fillet, brush with Italian dressing and sprinkle on Traeger’s Blackened Saskatchewan Rub. That’s it. Grill fish for 20-30 minutes at 325 degrees and you’re set.

Ingredients

1 Salmon Fillet

Zesty Italian Dressing, as needed

Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub, as needed

Lemon Wedges, to serve

Preparation

Brush salmon with Italian dressing and season with Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub.

When ready to cook, set the temperature to 325℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

Place salmon on the grill and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, until it reaches an internal temperature of 145℉ and flakes easily.

Remove salmon from grill. Serve with lemon wedges. Enjoy!

*Cook times will vary depending on set and ambient temperatures.

Delicious!
I used this basic recipe, but I always modify to suit my own taste. I had a nice BIG salmon filet that I needed to cut in half to fit on my small Traeger. The filet was marinaded in a tawney port with a litte Soy Vey teriyaki for about 3 hours. I smoked it on the Traeger with cherry wood for about 20 minutes. Always go at the low end for time so that it doesn't over cook. The result was spectacular! Moist, slightly smoky and really delicious.

Wow... Amazing Salmon!
I have always been hesitant to grill salmon because every time it always turns out dry/tough. All I can say is wow... My wife and I are now OBSESSED with this simple and quick recipe. Followed everything word for word and the salmon always comes out moist and perfectly cooked. Give this recipe a try!
