What's this?

Rich, tender, and packed with wood-fired flavor. Fire up this filet mignon recipe to celebrate something special or for a weeknight meal made for a king.

Ingredients

  • 12 Ounce filet mignon steaks

  • 1 Teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 Teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 Teaspoon Jacobsen Salt Co. Pure Kosher Sea Salt

  • 1 Teaspoon black pepper

Steps

  • 1

When ready to cook, start the Traeger at 500 F. Preheat, lid closed for 10-15 minutes.
  • 2

Take the steaks out of the fridge and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut steaks into two 6 oz pieces.
  • 3

Rub both sides of the steak with the garlic, onion, salt and pepper.
  • 4

When the grill is ready, put the steaks on the outer rim of the grill to get the most direct heat to the steaks. Close the lid and wait 3-4 minutes before checking.
  • 5

Flip the steaks once. Cook the steak to desired internal temperature on the one side without flipping it (135F for medium rare).
  • 6

Pull the steaks and let rest for 5-10 minutes, this is key. Serve. Enjoy!
