When ready to cook, set temperature to 180℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes. For optimal flavor, use Super Smoke if available.
To make Smoked Blackberry Simple Syrup: Place blackberries on a grill mat and smoke for 15-20 minutes. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and warm over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat and place 2/3 of blackberries in the simple syrup and macerate. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and store for up to 14 days.
To make the Cocktail: Muddle 4-5 blackberries in a cocktail shaker. Add vodka, alpine preserve, lemon, and smoked blackberry syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously. Double strain into an old fashioned glass.
Garnish with smoked blackberries and a lemon twist. Enjoy!
