Best purchase I have ever made!
I bought this grill 2 months ago and have used it almost daily... somedays we have used it for multiple meals. It has practically replaced my need for our stove. With weather getting below zero in MN, I was worried it might not hold up, but the only thing I have an issue with is keeping the bluetooth thermometer warm enough so I don't have to go out there! If you live in the frozen tundra, go big and buy this model, its the best option out there

Really want this grill
I really want this grill! Can’t afford it but it looks amazing. Having the ability to smoke meats is unbelievable. I will continue to dream.

One of the best grills made
I have had my Traeger Elite for a few years now and it still amazes me how easy to use and how good the food comes off. I came onto the traeger site to order the upper rack and thought I would leave my 2 cents. If you like Chicken (like me) there is no better tool. This is the first thing I cooked and after we tasted it I walked my Propane grill to the curb for the trash man to haul away. It took about a month before I was convinced this was not a fluke and only worked with chicken. It works with everything so I gave away my charcoal grill. I now have a lot cleaner patio and can invite more friends because I am not totally focused on the grill. As far as waiting until the weather is nice to use it, I haven't had a day bad enough to not light it up. I did have to get a welding blanket to cover the top when it was below zero but I got a really nice smoke turkey for Christmas dinner with no problems. It cooks everything - take and bake pizza's totally better smoked. Bacon melts in your mouth. Want an over easy egg for hamburger topping or breakfast throw it in a greased corning ramekin and they cook perfectly round. Vegetables (even the yucky green ones) come out great with a light oil and salt and pepper. Traeger recipes are great but try your own ideas too. The nice thing about the grill is it is very forgiving.
BBQ till the cows come home (then you have more to BBQ)

A. No, The select grills, are not double wall insulated. However they do have a cabinet beneath the barrel that adds some insulation.

Q. What is the difference between the Select Elite and Select Pro controllers? You say they are different, but what are the differences? It appears that the units are virtually identical, except the Pro has the Extra Rack giving it 217 Sq Inches more grilling area. At the same listed price of $1299, is it safe to assume the Elite controller is a higher end? What other differences are there, and why do they end up costing the same? How can I convert a Select Elite to have cast iron grill grates? Do you offer insulation blankets for the Elite? What about compatible drip tray liners? Can I add the Extra Rack to the Elite?
Dave
Eagle, Colorado
A. The Pro controller has a smarter algorithm and works on a PID Loop. You will get tighter temps with the Pro controller. The Pro version of the grill also includes the extra shelf. You can get the extra shelf and Pro controller upgrades for the Elite.
