Love Traegers!

I bought this as my 3rd Traeger. 1st is about 10 yrs. old and gave to a friend. I love almost everything about this one except temp. control. Temp. control on my others is very accurate. Not so with this unit. If I try to smoke, it goes out from low temp. reading. If I put it on high, it gets too hot and goes out on high temp. reading. I have to monitor it constantly. I still love it, and its great for camping, just not as good as larger models as far as temp. control is concerned.

My PTG is the best and GREATEST PURCHASE I have made with in the last year

First thing I cooked on the grill was a Pork roast; I had no rub or marinade so I did what I do best I grabbed a bunch of spices and other condiments and mixed all of them up and I injected it into the meat and the roast was done with in about 3 hours; the roast was Restaurant quality ie... so Juicy it melted in your mouth; the next day I cooked some Asparagus and it was a great addition to the left over roast; I then cooked Pork chops and all that I seasoned them with was seasoning salt and the comment my wife made was she could not believe how juicy they were and that pork chops are never this juicy. Needlessly to say my wife and I can not say more good things about this PTG. I think I've convinced her into buying me the full size Elite grill for our anniversary in Oct. I know if anyone that is thinking about purchasing one the only thing you need to know is DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON ANY OTHER SMOKER OTHER THAN A TRAEGER GRILL. BUY IT YOU WON'T REGRET IT BUT YOU WILL IF YOU DON'T.

PTG Pellet Grill Off-the-grid Cooking Fun

I love my PTG. I use it on the back of my truck when we go Whitewater Kayaking out in the boonies and off the grid. I have the Traeger Power Inverter and it works perfectly from my truck battery. It doesn't draw much from the battery but I do have a solar battery charger that I can connect while grilling just for fun (I have been an I.T. computer geek for 40 years and also a Vietnam Combat Vet). I love being off the grid with friends and fire up my grill without worrying about causing a wild-fire because the firebox is covered by the lid when we are in dry places. I make everything in this little bad boy, no worries. I love seeing the faces of hikers and river runners when they see us living the good life where there is no electricity or cell phone coverage and eating like we're downtown. I also carry my Vitamix blender to make frozen margaritas just to round out the day after a wild river run. I have slept in rice paddies in my combat days but now I sleep in a Goretex tree hammock and cook like a master chef anywhere we go with my PTG. It is also a great warm gathering spot when kayaking in the winter mountains:-) If you love the taste of wood fired food anywhere you go, I recommend you get one ..it will blow your friends away:-)

A. There is a small bucket that hangs on the back of the grill. Just like larger Traegers.

Q. What is the hopper capacity and how long will it run, roughly, (assume 400 degree cooking temp and 60 degrees ambient?)
D
Bugtussle, Tennessee
A. The Hopper capacity on the PTG+ is 5 lbs. Pellet consumption on the PTG should be about a 1/2 lb per hour on smoke and 2 lbs per hour on high. You should be able to get anywhere from 2 to 10 hours depending on temperature setting.

Q. I cannot find serial number to register my grill. I bought it open box at Costco. Can you tell me where it's located?
Sally Johnson
Scottsdale , Arizona
A. The serial number is usually on a sticker under the hopper burner lid. You can give us a call at 1800 TRAEGER and we can help you register your grill.
