Traeger for life.

I am a owner of a Traeger Junior, but when coming to camping I needed something a little more compact, that’s where the scout came into play, unfortunately there was a recall with the drip pans. I respect Traeger for going back to the drawing board and fixing what needed to be fixed with the drip pan. Traeger stands behind their products 100%. When my new and improved drip pan came they made it worth my wild and through in a couple extra surprises beyond what I was asking for. I am Traeger for life, and can’t wait to use my scout next picnic or camping trip. I would give them all the stars in the world

The best thing since The invention of beer

I bought my first traeger recently it was the Scout and had my doubts!! But after my first Tri Tip I was sold the meat was perfect and I wasn’t baby sitting the meat. I set the desired temperature estimated time and started drinking my phone timer went off and I flipped the meat and back to drinking beer HeHeHe to funny no worries about flaring or anything else for that matter but making sure I had plenty of beer. The compliments about the flavor and how perfect it was cooked where overwhelming and I played it off on how much work I did cooking the meat but the real secret was the Traeger Scout easy to clean , portable, and idiot proof making just about anyone a grilling King this is the best invention since Beer was made. I really love your product quality and price you have put a lot of time and effort to create as far as I can tell the best portable grill/smoker on the market. Thank you so much for being the Best you can be which is Awesome. Much Love Great Respect you’re newest and biggest fan Roy Meridith.

Our new Scout

  • Oregon
We bought the Scout to use with our Motorhome so we could enjoy the Traeger on the road like ours at home. We decided to try it at home before we took it camping and found it easy to use. We seasoned it, then cooked on it that evening. We put a sockeye salmon filet on the grill and it cooked perfectly following the instructions in the new cookbook provided. We have since cooked a flatbread pizza, chicken wings, and filet mignon on it - all turning out perfectly. It heats up nice and cleans up easily. We clean it up before every use including vacuuming the ash out. The cover is a great addition- as it comes with good carrying handles making it easier to transport.

Q. in regards to the scout,,, how much power is required for this to operate? i am considering getting one of these for my camping trips and need to know how many watts that this grill consumes. thanks ty

A. Most traegers pull around 300W on startup and less than 100W after start up. We recommend a 400W inverter if connecting to a vehicle battery.

Q. Does this thing need to be plugged in or can it run on batteries?
Drew

A. The Traeger uses a regular wall plug for power. You can run it on a generator, power pack or vehicle battery with a power inverter.
