I was looking for something different to season my pork butt with the other day, and remembered I had 1/2 a can of Traeger Prime Rib Rub in the cupboard - left over from a mischievous little tri-tip I spanked several weeks ago. I figured why not? I like a nice butt - soft to the touch, and so juicy and flavorful, - a fine enough one can be enjoyed by many many guests. I picked out a full round firm one from the butcher, and caressed it purposely with this outstanding blend of spices til it was well coated and succulently colored. Then it was off to my Traeger Lil' Text Elite 22 for an 8 hr smoke. When we hit our target temperature, we opened the grill and were overwhelmed by the sweetly complex flavors of the rendered pork fat and this rub - it was perfect! A little Traeger-Q sauce pumped all over the curves of this shoulder and we were ready to go! My guests gorged themselves - their thirst for luscious butt fully slaked. Don't reserve these rubs for what's printed on the canister - explore your naughty side and try them on all your favorite cuts!

Q. Why did y'all get rid of the the original prime rib seasoning? I'm not a fan of the new prime rib seasoning; it leaves a bad after taste in your mouth.
