The app can be download HERE and at the App Store for iOS device and the Google Play Store for Android devices.
You should check the following if your Timberline WiFire controller is not connecting to your WiFi network:
- Verify the name of the network matches the network you are trying to connect to. Spelling must match exactly, upper-case and lower-case matters
- Verify the password for your network is entered correctly
If your app keeps force closing, ensure you have the latest version by going to the App Store (if on an iOS device) or the Play Store (if on an Android device). Check for updates. If there is an update, update to the latest version. If that doesn’t work, simply uninstall and reinstall the app and run the set up procedure again.
If you forgot your password, on the login screen on the app, click on Forget Password? This will direct you to enter in the email address (username) you used when setting up the account.
Your username would be the email address you used when creating your account. If you do not remember it, please contact 844-9WI-FIRE (844-994-3473)for assistance. If you need to update it to a new email address, Traeger Customer Service will be able to assist you as well.
If your app is not uploading your recipes, run the set-up procedure on the app again to connect to your grill. You should also check the WiFi settings as well as the network password.
Currently the wireless device on the Timberline grill is only compatible with 2.4ghz channels. Using this frequency gives you a bigger connectivity range.
The app is not required to use the Timberline Grill, but you will love it even more if you do have the app. It will allow you to upload recipes to the Timberline Grill. You will also be able to view and upload more recipes as they become available.
You can name your grill anything you want. It is used to identify the grill if you have multiple Timberline grills on the same network.

here 4 error conditions and 2 warning conditions detected by the Timberline Grill
- 1. High Temp Error: This error will occur when the temperature in the grill reaches temperatures above 550°F for more than 45 seconds. The grill will turn off the fan and auger. After the grill drops below 450°F, the auger will run for 2 minutes to remove embers from the auger tube. After the grill has cool, turn off the grill. You will need to clear our any remaining pellets from the firepot. Then restart the Timberline grills.

As part of the priming processing before seasoning the grill, a cup of water was added to the grease trap. Water will slowly evaporate and is replaced from the drip tray by grease. If there is smoke coming out of the bottom of the grill, simply add more water to the trap and Traeger on.
The seasoning reminder will display the first few times you power up the grill. However, you only need to season your grill once.
Your Timberline beeping 3 times indicates the probe is not plugged in properly. Simply unplug the probe and reinsert.
There are two positions for the grill grate in your Timberline grill. For searing, the grill grate should be placed at the lowest point in the grill body cavity, resting on the lowest back brackets and the lip at the front.
Don’t fret. The Timberline control will ignite the hot rod and get the grill fired up again.
