Grilling these sweet potato slices brings out the natural sweet flavor for a delicious side or healthy sweet potato snack. Forget plain old potatoes and dipping sauce, sweet potatoes caramel flavor can stand on its own.

5 Large sweet potatoes
1 Tablespoon canola oil
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon pepper
1/2 Teaspoon onion powder

Step

    Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them lengthwise into eighths.

    Toss them in the oil, salt, pepper, and onion powder.

    When ready to cook, start the Traeger and set the temperature to high and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.

    Place the sweet potatoes directly on the grill; they will get a great sear by placing them in the very front and in the very back on the grill. After they have good grill marks move them to the center and continue to cook for about 15 to 20 minutes. Serve.
