When ready to cook, start the Traeger grill on Smoke with the lid open until the fire is established (4 to 5 minutes). Set the temperature to 400 degrees and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.
Combine onions, butter, olive oil, sugar and salt in a cast-iron skillet and place skillet in grill.
Cook for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally until onions are golden brown.
Combine ground elk, seasoned salt, Worchestershire sauce, pepper and form into 2-inch patties.
Place patties in grill and and cook 2 to 4 minutes per side.
Place pepperjack cheese on each patty and let melt.
If desired, slice dinner rolls in halves and place cut side on grill to lightly toast.
Serve slider topped with caramelized onions and Traeger bbq sauce if desired. Enjoy!
