Shop Class Overview

Wield your BBQ apron and sharpen your pencils -- Traeger BBQ Shop Class is in session. Each half-day BBQ workshop is taught by a Traeger Pit Master who will teach you how to make authentic melt in your mouth barbecue. A BBQ manual is provided with tips and tricks from the BBQ Pros, and you'll be able to feast on samples throughout the class. We’ll make it well worth your time so come spend a few hours with us to take your barbecue skills pro.

Learn Tips from the Pros

Each class format is unique to the BBQ Pro instructor. All attendees will receive instruction on either pro-style BBQ or backyard BBQ, tips and tricks for preparation, best practices, demonstrations, cooking tools, and secret ingredients.

You can choose from either of our class options; Competition BBQ or Backyard BBQ. You'll also learn how to trim, rub, inject, and smoke authentic and delicious barbecue. A BBQ workbook is provided with tips and tricks from our BBQ Pros so your learning can continue even after the class concludes.

The Traeger Shop Class is packed with valuable information and taught by a BBQ Pit Master. This is an opportunity to learn from a Pro in a close-knit setting.     Join in on this special Traeger Shop Class, which will cover everything to make you King or Queen of the cul-de-sac: brisket, ribs, half chickens, and pork butts . Blow away your neighbors and in-laws with your newly acquired Traeger skills and food.This Class will be taught by Craig Sharry. In late 2005 Craig founded Texas Pepper Jelly. Craig has currently competed in over 270 sanctioned BBQ competitions across 7 states. These competitions include such national events as the Jack Daniels invitational and the American Royal. He has multiple Grand Championship wins and Reserve Grand Champion wins. Craig continues to cook 30 to 35 competitions per year while continuing his work with Texas Pepper Jelly.

Jeff’s interest in BBQ started at an early age with his father who was a butcher by trade. He bought his first smoker in 1998 and continued to purchase ‘move-up’ smokers in the following years. In 2008 Shiggin’ & Grinnin’ was born with his two best friends and just four short years later they became the World Champions.

Luke is the pitmaster of Old Virginia Smoke, which has been competing on the KCBS Barbecue Circuit for 4 seasons.  Winner of multiple grand championships, reserve grand championships, and many other awards, Old Virginia Smoke is the current World Barbecue Champion, winning that title at the World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Alabama.  Luke resides in Bristow, Virginia, and cooks with his wife, and best friend.
