What's this?

We’re elevating a classic side dish and infusing it with our signature wood-fired flavor. This BBQ baked beans recipe is simple to make, and features smoky bacon, fresh onions, and bell pepper.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound bacon, chopped

  • 1 yellow onion, diced

  • 1 green bell pepper, diced

  • 4 Can pork and beans

  • 1 Cup ketchup

  • 2 Tablespoon dry mustard

  • 1 Tablespoon black pepper

  • 1/2 Tablespoon kosher salt

  • 1/2 Tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 Tablespoon onion powder

Steps

  • 1

Place bacon in a cold sauté pan over medium heat. Cook until bacon is crispy and the fat is rendered. Strain fat from bacon, reserving 2 tablespoons of bacon fat, and set bacon aside.
  • 2

Place reserved fat back into the pan, add onion and pepper. Sauté for 5 to 10 minutes until onions are translucent and peppers are tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • 3

When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 350℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.
  • 4

In a 9x13 inch casserole dish, combine beans, cooked bacon, onions and peppers, and all remaining ingredients. Stir well to combine.
  • 5

Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and place directly on the grill grate. Cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and darkened in color a little.
  • 6

Remove from the grill and let rest for 15 to 20 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
