Dine Don Draper style. This casserole is a throw-back to the meals Betty created. We've given the delicious home-cooked food of the 50's a healthy serving of smoke for modern flavor.
How many people are you serving?
In a mixing bowl, combine the beans (trimmed and cooked until tender, or may use 2 16 oz. cans), soup, milk, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, 2/3 cup of the onion rings, and red pepper, if using. Transfer to a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish.
When ready to cook, set grill temperature too 375˚F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.
Cook the casserole until the filling is hot and bubbling, 25 to 30 minutes. Top with the remaining onions and cook for 5 to 10 minutes more, or until the onions are crisp and beginning to brown.
