Love my Junior Elite 20 but...........
I've cooked just about everything on my Traeger Junior Elite 20 Grill. It does a great job and I love it. In addition to producing great food, it is much easier to clean up and maintain that the other grills that we've owned.

I bought this model because we are a small family of three adults so 300 square inches of cooking surface is plenty for us.

If I could do a rewind, I would buy a little larger model though, such as the Pro 22. This would help to overcome the two limitations I've encountered with the Junior Elite 20, These are: 1/ Hopper capacity of just 8 pounds means that your grill can run out of pellets, especially with cooking something big like a whole brisket or pork butt. With this model, you have to keep a close eye on the hopper. 2/ The height from the grilling surface to the top inside of the lid is only about 7 to 8 inches. No luck fitting something like a whole turkey into that space. I worked around that limitation by spatchcocking (cutting out the backbone and butterflying the bird) so not a deal killer. http://www.traegergrills.com/recipes/poultry/spatchcock-citrus-turkey

Charcoal Grilling In Trouble
My Traeger Grill is nothing less than amazing! I found it at Costco a few weeks ago. The salesman was awesome and convinced me to invest in the Traeger. I love it!!! I just grilled a Tri Tip Roast on it last night and everyone could not stop eating it. I love this grill. No going back to charcoal.

Traeger Series 20 SMOKIN Grill
I purchased the Traeger last fall and I have been grilling up a storm since; ribs, pork butts, brisket, bacon, chicken, pizzas, bratwurst, salmon, and ribeye steaks. I have not had one failure, set the temp and let it rip. I thought I was doing well until I attended one of Traeger’s BBQ 101 classes and learned new tricks and techniques. Now I’m really grilling. I have several grills and smokers but all I now use is my Traeger. Best flavor and the easiest to operate with the most consistent operation. I highly recommend the Traeger grill but don’t think too small.

Q. I have a friend who has this model and gets an error message every time he turns it on. He has not been able to use it for the the last year. He asked me if I could figure it out because I have a really old Big Tex. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks John

Q. I'm wanting to put cast iron grates in my grill, the non coated style. Which ones fit my elite 20?
Aaron
Sullivan, Indiana
A. We would recommend getting the 12.5 inch grate found here: https://goo.gl/LH8j43 Our recommendation would be to place the cast iron grate right on the porcelain one for this size grill.
