Fries on a Ranger
Hamburgers are great on a Ranger Traeger but what good is a hamburger without French fries(or freedom fries if you still harder I’ll feelings about the first Iraq war, lol).
I smoke my burgers at 170deg(I typically just cook 2 burgers when making fries). Then set grill for 425(per crinkle fries instruction) put grills on aluminum foil on 2/3rds of grill. Salt fries and cook for 15-20 min. Then put burgers on other 1/3rd of grill. Cook for 5 min per side.
Enjoy smoked fries with a great hamburger...

It looks like this Ranger Grill is going to be a keeper.
After having a frustrating time with a previous Traeger Portable PTG grill, I got this Ranger in hopes that we could have a Traeger that would fit in the bed of my truck when we go Glamping. Well, the first two meals I prepared on the new Ranger Grill were perfect. #1 was burgers (pretty hard to mess up unless you over cook them) and #2 was Rib Eye Steaks. But tonight's cook were Baby Back Ribs. I bought a rack today and they were nice and meaty with little fat. I rubbed them with Smart and Final's Pappy's Rub, and put them in a vertical rack which meant that I didn't need to flip them over. I followed the BBQ Baby Back Ribs recipe on the Traeger site and cooked them at 225° for 3 hours. When I pulled them off and brought them inside, the whole house had that delicious scent of what we were about to indulge in. One rack was enough for the two of us to have for 3 dinners, they were that meaty. The meat didn't shrink up and leave large portions of the bone exposed and they were not dried out, definitely tender as well as flavorful. Thank you Traeger for getting this portable grill right. BTW, the grill was amazing at keeping the temperature pretty close to the 225° the entire time. Although there is no "Smoke" setting, at this temperature, the ribs were smoked perfectly. So far it looks like this Ranger Grill is going to be a keeper. PS. this grill is a bit on the heavy side.

On the Go Grilling at it's Finest
As long as you have a power source, this thing will go anywhere you can go. Because of it's size it heats up fast and barely uses any pellets so you don't have haul extra bags around. I snagged one Traeger's power converters and hook it up to my truck's battery which works great. The skillet it awesome for breakfast stuff. The extra features like temp probe, keep warm mode, and timer are just all added bonuses to an already awesome piece of Traeger tech.

Q. since this a tailgate portable type inverter i am assuming it comes with an inverter or some type of 12 volt connection? Also what is the peak watts?

A. Adam, The Ranger does not come with an Inverter. It uses a regular 110v Wall plug. You can purchase an inverter and run the grill from a vehicle battery, We recommend at least a 400W Inverter.
